After an exciting start to the Premier League the Fantasy bloggers are out in numbers. Here are some of the most interesting points in the Gameweek reviews:
Phillipe Coutinho: Unlucky not to come away with a lot more points, 5 shots and 6 chances created give him a xP rating of 7.1 amongst the very best of GW1. Sturridge, Enrique, Aspas, Johnson and Henderson all ranked very highly as well.
While Ross Barkley earned the plaudits and the Fantasy investment, Seamus Coleman was another to emerge as a key figure. Seemingly charged with raiding down the right flank at will, he was more winger than full-back and, with a toothless West Brom at Goodison this weekend, he already looks a hot property who, unlike Barkley, looks firmly cemented in Martinez’s lineup.
Early observations from a quick scan through the bonus point allocations are that whilst goal scorers are still generally well rewarded with bonus points, those that create the goals with the assists seem to be getting less recognition. Instead, defenders with clean sheets seem to feature more prominently.
Soldado: Despite what I said above, the stats were good and he can only improve. Having penalties with players like Lennon and Chadli who will be fouled consistently because of their pace is a good factor.
For all those who splashed the cash it couldn’t have gone much better as United’s number 20 netted a brace against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium as the Reds went on to beat the Swans 4-1. As if matters couldn’t get any better van Persie was also awarded two bonus points bringing his tally for the day to 12 points.
