More on the Liverpool vs Arsenal game. Jake Meandor, writing for Just Football, on how Premier League teams over-rely on individual talent:
And sometimes you say “I want to see something farcical, absurd, ridiculous, hilarious, awful and amazing.” And that’s when you need Liverpool v Arsenal. If you’re new to the Premier League or are trying to sell friends on its merits, this game captured everything good and terrible about the league.
There was clever attacking, shambolic defending, Fabio Borini doing Fabio Borini things, and Santi Cazorla’s nipple, which made an entirely-too-long appearance after Fabio Borini did one of the Fabio Borini things.
It was, in short, the funniest game of the season for everyone except Liverpool or Arsenal fans. It was also a reminder of why England’s best have fallen so far behind the best from the Bundesliga and La Liga.
